Acceptance of Terms

By signing in to InboxLedger and using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use InboxLedger.

What InboxLedger Does

InboxLedger is a personal expense tracking tool. It lets you forward bank transaction emails to a unique address, and uses AI to extract transaction details (amount, merchant, date) into a personal expense dashboard. Gmail scanning is also available as an optional feature.

InboxLedger is a personal tool, it is not a financial institution, accounting firm, tax advisor, or payment service. The data shown in your dashboard is derived from email parsing and may not always be complete or accurate.

Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • ·Use InboxLedger only for lawful personal expense tracking purposes.
  • ·Keep your Google account credentials secure, InboxLedger never asks for your password.
  • ·Configure only your own bank email senders, not to monitor another person's emails.
  • ·Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service or its APIs.
  • ·Not use InboxLedger in any way that violates Google's Terms of Service.

Email Forwarding & Gmail (Optional)

InboxLedger provides each user with a unique forwarding address. You may set up email forwarding (e.g. a Gmail filter) to send your bank’s transaction emails to this address. By doing so:

  • ·You confirm you are forwarding only your own emails.
  • ·You understand forwarded emails are processed in memory to extract transaction details, raw content is never stored.
  • ·You can stop forwarding at any time by deleting the filter, InboxLedger will stop receiving emails immediately.

If you connect Gmail directly (optional, from Settings), InboxLedger requests the gmail.readonly scope, read-only access used exclusively to scan bank emails you configure. We will never send, delete, or modify any email. You can revoke this access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

Data Accuracy Disclaimer

Transaction data shown in InboxLedger is parsed from emails using automated AI techniques. Parsing may occasionally be incorrect, incomplete, or miss transactions entirely. InboxLedger is intended as a personal reference tool only.

Do not rely on InboxLedger as your sole financial record. Always verify important financial information against your official bank statements.

Service Availability

We aim to keep InboxLedger available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice, for maintenance, security reasons, or other operational needs.

Intellectual Property

The InboxLedger name, design, and software are owned by us. You retain ownership of all personal data you provide or that is extracted from your emails. We do not claim any ownership over your transaction data.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, InboxLedger is provided “as is” without any warranty, express or implied. We are not liable for:

  • ·Financial decisions made based on data shown in InboxLedger
  • ·Inaccurate or missing transaction data due to email parsing errors
  • ·Loss of data due to service disruption or account deletion
  • ·Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Termination

You can stop using InboxLedger at any time. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, go to Settings → Danger Zone → Clear all data and then revoke Gmail access from your Google Account (if connected), and delete your Gmail forwarding filter.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or misuse the service.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of InboxLedger after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
